550 Filipino teachers pass Google Certificate Examination Level - DepEd
After demonstrating proficiency in using Google tools in their classes and passing the Level 1 examination, the Department of Education (DepEd) on Saturday, March 20 announced that around 550 Filipino teachers are now Google Certified Educators.
“We’re happy to announce to you since January 2021, we have had Google Certification. We know that Google for Education has an important role in education by enhancing efficiency and productivity of teachers and students,” said Rowena Reyes, an Educational Technology Specialist from the Schools Division Office (SDO) of Makati.
Data coming from Information and Communications Technology Service-Education Technology Unit (ICTS-EdTech) also showed that Region IV-A (CALABARZON) emerged as the top region with the most number of passers with 156.
This was followed by Region II (Cagayan Valley) with 118 and National Capital Region (NCR) with 113.
DepEd said that three SDOs also scored more than 50 passers namely Santiago City (91), Cavite Province (65), and Rizal (55).
Meanwhile, also encouraged educators to take the Google Certification examination due to its usefulness - especially in the time of the pandemic when many people rely on technology.
“Our training are continuous as stated in the memo. Everyday, we have sessions in different regions because our goal is to help teachers to review and pass the Google Certification,” Reyes ended.
