Over 200 medical workers get COVID jabs in first 2 days of vaccination in Cainta


More than 200 medical frontliners were inoculated against COVID-19 in the first two days of the vaccination rollout in Cainta, Rizal.

The 222 medical workers were inoculated with AstraZeneca vaccines.

The Department of Health has allocated 2,300 doses for Cainta intended for the municipality's frontliners, according to Mayor Johnielle Keith Nieto.

Nieto told The Manila Bulletin that the local government is eyeing to vaccinate around 5,000 frontliners in the initial phase of its vaccination program.

One Arena, the town’s air-conditioned gymnasium, has been the venue of the vaccination activity since March 17.

As of March 16, Cainta has logged a total of 2,695 confirmed cases, with 51 active cases.
