Over 2,400 new jobs seen in 33 upcoming PEZA projects
The Philippine Economic Zone Authority (PEZA) Board approved last week a total of 33 projects in ecozone areas across the country that are expected to bring in P13.19 billion worth of investments and generate more than 2,400 jobs.

"The approval of new projects and investments is the agency's positive action to continuously support the Philippine economy in our endeavor to maintain our competitiveness for investments despite the impact of the coronavirus disease (COVID-19),” PEZA Director General Charito Plaza said in a statement on Thursday, March 18.
According to Plaza, 29 of the board-approved projects will be located in Luzon while the remaining will be established in Visayas and Mindanao.
These projects include registered business enterprises, export and IT industries, facilities, logistics and utilities, as well as ecozone developer or operator projects.
Meanwhile, Plaza thanked PEZA's locator companies for continuously trusting the agency and for believing in the country's potential despite the ravages caused by the pandemic.
"PEZA indeed continues to implement its brand of excellence, one-stop-shop and continued operations albeit observing strict health and safety protocols for the safety of all," Plaza said.
"We at PEZA are doing our best to become part of the solution during these trying times. We will continue to turn the threats into opportunities and help the Philippines achieve its goal of becoming an investment haven in Asia and around the globe," she added.
