Gen. Debold Sinas, chief of the Philippine National Police (PNP), denied on Thursday, March 18, that he was already inoculated with a Chinese-made vaccine.

He was reacting to the revelation of Philippines’ special envoy to China Ramon Tulfo who claimed that he was already vaccinated with Sinopharm, together with some government officials that include Sinas, in November last year.
In a statement released by PNP spokesman Brig. Gen. Ildebrandi Usana, Sinas, however, did not categorically reject the revelation of Tulfo.
“Our Chief PNP simply said that if he had his vaccine, he could not have been infected with COVID-19 (coronavirus disease),” said Usana.
Sinas tested positive for coronavirus, the result was released while he was on a command visit at the headquarters of the Police Regional Office 4B in Calapan City. He underwent a swab test on March 11 and got the result on the same day.
Critics that include senators lashed out at Sinas for alleged repeated violation of the quarantine protocols amid reports that he did not undergo the quarantine protocols being implemented in Calapan City.
The allegation, however, was denied by police officials. Sinas is currently under isolation.
