8 dead, 4 of them Asians, in spas shootings in Atlanta


At least eight people were killed Tuesday, March 17 after multiple shootings at three spas in Atlanta.

According to a report by CNN, three people were killed and two were wounded after a shooting in a massage parlor in an Atlanta suburb, and four people were killed in two other spas in Atlanta on Tuesday.

Deputies were called to Young’s Asian Massage near Acworth, Georgia, Cherokee County Sheriff’s spokesperson Howard J. Baker told CNN.

Authorities said at least five people suffering from gunshot wounds were found. The two people were found dead at the scene, while the other three were brought to a hospital where two died.

Three more were killed at the Gold Massage Spa on Piedmont Road. The fourth person was killed across the street at the Aromatherapy Spa.

Atlanta police confirmed that the four victims at the northeast Atlanta spas were women and appeared to be Asian.

According to the Cherokee County Sheriff’s Office, deputies are searching for Robert Aaron Long, 21 of Woodstock, who was caught on video surveillance, WSB reported.

Investigators, meanwhile, have yet to determine whether the attacks were related.
