BAGUIO CITY – The City Health Service Office (CHSO) recorded 10 minors afflicted with COVID-19 as it tallied 45 new cases on Monday, March 15.
The CHSO said of the 10 minors, eight are female, two are male and are aged 2 to 16-years-old. The 2-year-old child afflicted with the virus came from the Northern part of the City.
They are all contacts of those who were previously infected with the virus.
As of March 15, Baguio City has 693 active cases, 113 deaths and 5,744 recoveries from the total 6,550 confirmed cases.
Meanwhile, Mayor Benjamin Magalong said the city has been given the go signal for the use of antigen test as border entry requisite
The city however is still encouraging establishments like hotels and restaurants to implement their own antigen testing requirement.
Magalong said, two hotels, the Baguio Country Club and The Manor have started imposing this requirement. Testing costs had been significantly reduced to P500 per antigen test.
"There is increase in mobility of people so it follows that COVID-19 cases will also increase," said Magalong.
Meantime, Magalong disclosed that beginning March 17, the new ordinance on face shield wearing will begin to take effect.
