"A report has been received by PAGASA that an email had been sent to a contractor by someone pretending to be a PAGASA official seeking to solicit donation to a certain foundation," the agency said in its website.

"We do not tolerate and detest that misrepresentation," it added.

PAGASA pointed out that it has not authorized any individual or organization to facilitate solicitations.

"We request anyone who receive similar mail, email or calls to immediately report the matter to PAGASA Public Information Unit at telephone number (02) 8284-0800 local 102 to 103 or email us at [email protected]," it said.
