The Mandaluyong City local government on Monday, March 15, reinstated the city-wide liquor ban through Memorandum Order No. 03, Series of 2021 amid the ongoing Metro Manila unified curfew hours.

The liquor ban is is seen as a measure that will help mitigate the alarming increase in COVID-19 cases in Metro Manila.
"From March 15, 2021 to March 31, 2021, the selling, serving, and/or delivery of alcohol, wine, beer, liquor, and other intoxicating beverages shall be strictly prohibited." the LGU said in its order.
"Moreover, the consumption of alcohol, wine, beer, liquor, and other intoxicating beverages in public places are likewise, and with greater emphasis, prohibited during said period. No person shall invite guests or visitors for drinking sessions inside their private residences." it added.
As of March 14, the city recorded 456 active COVID-19 cases, 6,594 recoveries, and 211 deaths.
