The local government of Quezon City will start implementing emergency measures and protocols and reimposition of liquor ban starting Monday, March 15 to lessen the local transmission of the coronavirus disease (COVID-19) in the city.
“The drastic increase of cases is very alarming. We want to stop the transmission as early as now so that we no longer have to implement another nationwide lockdown,” Mayor Belmonte said in a statement on Sunday, March 14.
The guidelines will take effect on March 15 until March 31, covering all workplaces, public areas, and business establishments in the city.
Strict compliance of public safety hours, health protocols in workplaces, mandatory use of the Kyusi Pass digital contact tracing app, and the re-implementation of a two-week liquor ban must be observed in the city.
All retail sales of alcoholic beverages are suspended during the duration of the guidelines.
The city government will also close all gyms, spas, and internet cafes for two weeks after a serious outbreak in one gym.
Barangays are advised to issue quarantine passes to residents to limit movement.
A barangay, however, may not close down any establishment without an approval from the city government.
Returning Overseas Filipinos (OFs) staying in hotels and other accommodation establishments in the city organized by the national government or private entities must report to the Office of the City Administrator for documentation and monitoring, and for guidance on health, security, and logistics protocols.
All OFs are also required to complete the mandatory quarantine period of at least 14 days regardless of the RT-PCR test result.
All member offices of the City’s law and order cluster, regulatory departments, the Barangays, and the QCPD and its police stations shall also continue enforcing the protocols contained in these guidelines.
