CEBU CITY – Suspected shabu worth at least P3 million was seized from a 41-year-old man in a buy-bust operation in Bohol Friday.
The Police Regional Office-Central Visayas (PRO 7) identified the suspect as Escorba Pata, a resident of Barangay Booy, Tagbilaran City, Bohol, a high-value individual (HVI) in the police watchlist.
Operatives of the Drug Enforcement Unit and Intelligence Unit of the Bohol Provincial Police Office cornered the suspect carrying 500 grams of suspected shabu worth P3.4 million.
The suspect did not resist arrest, police said.
Another HVI was also arrested in a separate police operation in Cebu City Friday.
Police said Gil Antolin Regner, 34, yielded packs of shabu with an estimated value of P714,000.
Police said it took weeks of surveillance before they were able to corner Regner.
Police said Regner agreed to meet the poseur-buyer on Bonifacio St. in Barangay Parian past 10 p.m.
Operatives of the Cebu City Police Office Drug Enforcement Unit immediately swooped in when the money and illegal drugs changed hands.
The two suspects were detained pending the filing of appropriate charges against them, police said.
