Who is Claudine Barretto referring to in 'sideswipe' post?

Did Claudine Barretto just throw shade at someone?

This is the question asked by netizens seeing the 41-year-old star's recent post on Instagram that read: "I would rather be known in life as an honest sinner, than a lying hypocrite..."

She used the hashtag "#sideswipe."

Her effort worked.

The comment section was immediately filled with different assumptions. 

Some maintained it's an indirect message to Jodi Sta. Maria, the new darling of her estranged husband Raymart Santiago.

Recall that last month Claudine made huge issue with her unhappiness relating to the ongoing relationship of the two.

A few days later, Jodi posted an inspiring quote amid Claudine's rant.

Meanwhile, netizens think it could also be related to Claudine's niece Julia Barretto, whose relationship with actor Gerald Anderson recently became public.

With so many online users tagging Jodi and Julia on Claudine's post, some protested "Stop the hate na po PLEASE."

While others readily gave Claudine their support.

"That’s why we and a lot of people love you Ate @claubarretto! You’re always standing up for truth! Take care always po Ate Clau," one wrote.

"Yung di mo kelangan mag malinis. Mas madali yung ganon," another added.
