'Good deed' fails to save two MMDA personnel from traffic violation tickets
So much for their good deed.
Two members of the Metropolitan Manila Development Authority (MMDA) motorcycle unit weren't spared from traffic violation tickets even if they assisted in the delivery of much-needed coronavirus disease (COVID-19) vaccines just minutes earlier.

A post on the MMDA's official Facebook page Wednesday, March 10 said that the agency chairman himself, Benhur Abalos, ordered that the two erring officials to get ticketed for "illegal parking, traffic obstruction, and other non-moving violations".
The post said that the unnamed duo had just helped in bringing vaccines over to different hospitals in Metro Manila when they decided to park and get a gas coupon in Mapagmahal Street, Barangay Pinyahan, Quezon City.
According to Chairman Abalos, the motorcycle units members' prior task was no excuse for them to violate traffic rules.
"Sila ay ipinatawag at tinikitan. Mahigpit na pinaalalahanan ng MMDA Chief ang mga kawani nito na sila dapat ang maging ehemplo sa pagsunod sa mga batas sa kalsada (They were summoned and ticketed. The MMDA Chief gave a stern reminder to his personnel that they should act as examples when it comes to following traffic rules)," the post read.
The MMDA advised the public to report incidents of irregularity, corruption, or any wrongdoing on the part of its personnel--along with proof in the form of pictures and/or video--to its Facebook account or Metrobase 136.
