Thia Thomalla looks back on being the first Asian Miss Eco International

Kapuso actress, beauty queen Thia Thomalla is embarking on yet another "first" in her life, and that's playing a boyish Presidential Guard (PSG) on the upcoming romantic comedy TV series "First Yaya."

Manila Bulletin Entertainment asked the beauty queen to take us back on how it felt to be the first Asian to win the prestigious Miss Eco International 2018 crown.

Thia shared, "Looking back 3 years ago, ang laki ng growth ko noong sumali ako at nag compete ako for Miss Eco, sobrang challenging in a way na I had to work with other cultures then I had to work with the traditions all over the world. Yung boss ko kasi sa Miss Eco was super-strict but she also empowered me."

"Being (the) first Asian to win Miss Eco, sobrang proud ako and I'm also proud to be here sa 'First Yaya,' because it's a really relatable TV series where relationship can be related to family, professionals so I think everyone should watch 'First Yaya' and be proud na merong 'First Yaya.'"

According to Thia, she really had to adapt for the role because she isn't really that boyish in real-life.

She will be joined by fellow beauty queen and actress Maxine Medina on "First Yaya."
