Fire hits residential area in Malate; old woman reported missing

A fire hit a residential area in Malate, Manila before dawn Tuesday, March 9, affecting 200 families.

According to a report by DZBB, the fire started at 3:19 am on the first floor of a 3-storey residential building on Ocampo St., cor. Leveriza St., Barangay 718, Zone 78.

The fire reached third alarm at 3:30 a.m. and was put out at 6:15 a.m.

DZBB said around 80 houses were affected by the blaze.

A 69-year-old woman was reported missing.

The cause of the fire has yet to be determined as of this writing.
