Vice President Leni Robredo cleared her daughter Tricia’s name against a Facebook user—allegedly the grandson of President Duterte—who supposedly received harsh words from the vice president’s daughter.

In a Facebook post, the Robredo camp tagged as fake news a claim on social media that Tricia sent a private message to Duterte’s grandson and supporter.

The fake news first made the rounds on social media last November 2020. Tricia already clarified the issue on her verified Facebook account. A verified account has a blue checkmark beside the user’s name.

“Muli nating idinidiin na pawang mga kasinungalingan ang mga paratang sa nasabing post. Pinapaalalahanan natin ang lahat na maging mapanuri at huwag basta maniniwala sa mga nakikita sa social media (We are reiterating that the allegations on the post are all lies. We are reminding everyone to scrutinize and not believe everything on social media),” Robredo’s post read.

Instead of focusing on more important matters such as the COVID-19 crisis, the vice president said they are saddened that her detractors seem intent on maligning their fellowmen.

The post said that the Facebook user who supposedly maligned the President’s supporter was a “poser.”

It has been fact-checked and reported before, but their detractors are once again using the same fake story to spread lies about the vice president and her family, the post on Robredo’s page said.

A certain Lance Kurt Duterte, purportedly the President’s grandson, is reposting the screencaps of a private message he allegedly had with Tricia about the President.

The Robredo camp already said that a fake account that copied Tricia’s name, profile picture, and posts was the culprit behind the exchange with Lance.
