Taxpayers can now verify TIN with phone app, says BIR

The Bureau of Internal Revenue (BIR) has come out with a mobile taxpayer identification number (TIN) app that makes it easier and more convenient for taxpayers to know their TINs with the use of smartphones.

Bureau of Internal Revenue (BIR)(MANILA BULLETIN)

Revenue Deputy Commissioner for Operations Arnel SD. Guballa said a taxpayer can use the app by simply typing in his complete name, birth date, address, civil status, and the name of spouse, if applicable.

The taxpayer must also take a selfie together with a valid government-issued ID before using the app.

"This way he will no longer visit and queue at our district offices to verify, or know his TIN," Guballa said of the taxpayer.

BIR Commissioner Caesar R. Dulay issued Revenue Memorandum Circular No. 13-2021 for the implementation of the digital project. Guballa said, however, that district offices across the country will continue to provide assistance to physical verification of TINs for those without smartphones.
