Julia Barretto joins boyfriend Gerald Anderson in celebrating his birthday with relief operation

Assistant Secretary Goddes Hope Libiran has shared some behind-the-scenes photos of Gerald Anderson's recent relief operation in Barangay San Agustin, Iba, Zambales over the weekend, which coincided with his 32nd birth anniversary.

According to Asec for Communications and Commuter Affairs of the Department of Transportation, the Philippine Coast Guard (PCG) supported Lieutenant Commander Anderson of the PCG Auxiliary (PCGA) in the relief drive. He who was joined in by World Vision Philippines ambassador and actress Julia Barretto.

Libiran said that 300 Aeta families residing at the Lupang Pangako Resettlement Area in Barangay San Agustin received basic commodities such rice, canned goods, instant noodles, biscuits, coffee, chocolate drink, and hygiene supplies.

She said that Anderson is one of the "most active Auxiliary volunteers," specifically in conducting humanitarian assistance operations which is one of the core mandates of the PCG.

"After the onslaught of Typhoon #UlyssesPH, LCDR Anderson PCGA was instrumental in the distribution of 1,500 relief packages in Isabela and Cagayan. He also ensured typhoon-stricken communities in the Bicol region were supported by sending at least 500 family packs containing food provisions and hygiene supplies. Amid the country's fight against the COVID-19 pandemic, LCDR Anderson tapped the Coast Guard K9 Force for the swift construction of temporary quarantine tents for the frontline medical workers of the Dr. Jose N. Rodriguez Memorial Hospital and Sanitarium in Caloocan City," she shared. 

"He also provided tents for PCG frontliners who are managing the day-by-day operations of quarantine facilities for returning overseas Filipinos located at Pier 15, Port Area, Manila," she added.
