Special voter registration for women, girls set for National Women's Month
There will be a three-day special voter registration for women and girls nationwide this month.
The Commission on Elections (Comelec) has set the three-day voter registration in celebration of National Women’s Month.

"A three-day special voter registration for women and girls in Offices of the Election Officers nationwide for local registration, and all Philippine posts and embassies abroad and Philippine Satellite Offices in the Department of Foreign Affairs (DFA), Philippine Overseas Employment Administration (POEA), MARINA, and Palacio del Gobernador, Intramuros, Manila for registration of overseas voters," said the Comelec - Gender and Development Office (GAD) in an advisory.
It added that the special registration activities for the local and overseas voters is from March 9 to 11 and March 8 to 10, respectively.
As part of the celebration of the National Women's Month, the Comelec will also observe Purple Fridays.
"All Comelec employees must wear purple in all Fridays, instead of Mondays, in March 2021 considering that Monday is disinfection day in all field offices," said Comelec-GAD.
The official 2021 National Women's Month celebration tarpaulin will also be displayed in all offices of the poll body nationwide and the five satellite offices for overseas registration in the Philippines.
The Comelec-GAD's Facebook page will bear a banner to be followed by the recorded video speeches of the three poll commissioners, namely Rowena Guanzon, Socorro Inting, and Aimee Ferolino-Ampoloquio.
The Comelec also committed to participate in the online advocacies of the Philippine Commission on Women (PCW).
Under Proclamation No. 227, the Philippines will celebrate the National Women's Month every March.
