LPA spotted outside PH's area of responsibility

The Philippine Atmospheric, Geophysical and Astronomical Services Administration (PAGASA) is currently monitoring a low-pressure area outside the country’s area of responsibility.

But, the state weather bureau noted that the weather disturbance is still 2,095 kilometers away from the mainland, and it does not affect any part of the country, as of now.

PAGASA said the easterlies remain the only weather system that affects the Philippines, particularly the eastern section.

Meno Mendoza, weather specialist, said the country may continue to experience hot weather in the coming days due to the prevailing easterlies which bring humid winds from the Pacific.

“Ngunit asahan pa rin pagdating ng hapon ng gabi posible pa rin ang pagkakaroon natin ng pulo-pulong mga pag ulan na dulot pa rin ng mga localized thunderstorms (But expect that by afternoon or evening, there is a possibility of having intermittent rains due to localized thunderstorms,” Mendoza said.

In its morning weather update, PAGASA said Metro Manila and the rest of the country will have partly cloudy to cloudy skies with isolated rain showers due to the easterlies or localized thunderstorms.

State meteorologist warned of possible flash floods or landslides during severe thunderstorms.
