Magalong said this is one of the priority development projects in the 15-point collective agenda of the city for the welfare of the youth.

City Administrator Bonifacio dela Pena said P342 million will come from the city coffers while P50 million will be given by the Public Works department.

The Youth Convergence Center will enhance the city’s capability to host local, regional, national, and international indoor sports competitions, aside from providing a venue for the youth for their numerous activities.

Dela Pena said the city has availed the services of a consultant from the Philippine Sports Commission (PSC) to ensure that facilities will be constructed according to prescribed standards.
