Four active volcanoes in the country have been on Alert Level 1 and were being monitored by the Philippine Institute of Volcanology and Seismology (Phivolcs) due to their continued volcanic activities.
Phivolcs said as of Sunday, March 7, the following volcanoes remained under Alert Level 1:
Pinatubo Volcano (Pampanga, Zambales, and Tarlac) - Since March 4, 2021
Mayon Volcano (Albay) - Since July 17, 2020
Taal Volcano (Batangas) - Since March 19, 2020
Kanlaon Volcano (Negros Island) - Since March 11, 2020
Meanwhile, the Bulusan Volcano in Sorsogon has been under Alert Level 0 since Oct. 26, 2020, which, according to Phivolcs, means that the volcano is “quite” and that “no magmatic eruption is foreseen.”
Phivolcs vowed to constantly monitor all the active volcanoes in the country.
