Take a closer look at LeBron James and the Tune Squad in 'Space Jam: A New Legacy'

NBA star LeBron James just dropped another teaser for his upcoming animated film "Space Jam: A New Legacy."

James flooded social media with stills from the new installation of the classic film "Space Jam" originally portrayed by NBA legend Michael Jordan.

"Y’ALL NOT READY FOR THIS SQUAD!!!!" wrote James in all caps Friday, March 5.

The 36-year-old Lakers forward grabbed the photos from Entertainment Weekly as the New York-based entertainment magazine is set to feature the movie franchise.

On the cover page, James can be seen holding a basketball and is surrounded by Tune Squad teammates Bugs Bunny, Lola Bunny, Tweety, Taz and Daffy Duck.

Other photos show James taking off for an electrifying dunk -- literally -- with mouth wide-open and having a conversation with Marvel Cinematic Universe veteran Don Cheadle (War Machine) and Cedric Joe, his son Dom in the film.

"In my younger days, part of my thinking was 'Space Jam' was so good, how can I top this?'" James told Entertainment Weekly. "There's always going to be conversations about LeBron trying to do everything Michael . But I've gotten older, and you know who you are. You know what you stand for."

Per Warner Bros., the plot will revolve around James and his mission to save the Tune Squad trapped in a digital space called "Server-verse" created by rogue A.I. (artificial intelligence) AI G Rhythm, played by Cheadle.

The four-time NBA champion will lead the Tune Squad against the evil Goon Squad in their attempt to escape the virtual world.

Produced by Ryan Coogler, director of "Black Panther," and directed by Malcolm D. Lee, "Space Jam: A New Legacy" is set to be released on July 16.
