The local government said that out of 457 hospital employees, the health workers are the only ones who volunteered to get the China-made vaccine.

CCMC Administrator Dr. Fernando Santos and Caloocan City Health Officer Dra. Evelyn Cuevas received the Sinovac jab in a bid to encourage more healthcare workers to be vaccinated.

Caloocan Mayor Oca Malapitan and Senator Francis Tolentino attended the ceremonial vaccination rollout.

"Ito ang mabisang solusyon para muli tayong makabangon sa pandemyang ito na labis na nakaapekto sa ating pamumuhay. Magpabakuna po tayo para sa proteksyon natin at ng ating mga mahal sa buhay (This is the best solution for us to recover from this pandemic which has greatly affected our lives. Let us get vaccinated to protect ourselves and our loved ones),” Malapitan said.

CCMC is one of two public hospitals being run by the local government. The Caloocan City North Medical Center is expected to start its vaccination rollout in the coming weeks.
