Would-be victims send hitman to hospital


BACOLOD CITY – An alleged hitman was injured when his two would-be victims managed to fight back during an attack in Barangay Bagacay, Dumaguete City, Negros Occidental Tuesday.

Initial investigation said one of the victims, 45-year-old Sandy Tinguha, was sitting inside the establishment when he was shot by the suspect.

However, the suspect, whose name has yet to be released by the police, missed again.

Witnesses in the area threw stones at the suspect and stabbed him to neutralize him. Bystanders were also able to disarm the suspect who was then shot and mauled by them.

Police recovered five empty shells of .45 caliber pistol and the suspect’s two firearms. The suspect was brought to a hospital, while police have yet to establish the motive of the assassination attempt.
