Concert Queen Pops Fernandez recently did a sit-down interview with the "man of the hour" for the past months, Derek Ramsay, whom everybody seems to be talking about and all the things that he's been doing.
During a one-on-one interview, Pops asked Derek how he felt when people thought they were in a relationship.
Pops admitted she was really "shocked" with the rumor, relating "Ano ba 'yun? Saan galing 'yun?"
According to Derek, he understood why they were rumored to be an item. "We were very close. You (Pops) were invited to my mom's birthday."
Though Pops thinks she's actually closer to Derek's mom than the veteran star. "Only because we spend more time together," she explained.
In any case, Derek continued that people thought that there was something going-on because after his breakup with Andrea Torres, they were seen together.
Asked if he and Andrea had a closure they deserve, Derek answered that they don't hate each other. "I don't think she hates me and definitely I don't hate her and her family. We were together for over a year and it was very sudden -- the breakup happened, it came out of nowhere. Kind of blindsided me and closure I think that will come with time. Definitely, no hate, no regrets."
Derek revealed that their split was a mutual decision after they ran across a small issue that became something much bigger.
"And I guess we both realized that it was something that both of us could not make certain adjustments to," he related. "We decided, instead of forcing it, let's just go separately."
Though it was unexpected, Derek reiterated that there's no bad blood between them. In fact, he never unfriended Andrea.
"There's no hate towards each other. You can see, she's back at work. She looks great. She's been working out. It shows that we both don't have, like, any animosity towards each other. I guess because if you do, it will really reflect on the way you act, the way you talk, the way you move, and you can see that she's happy and I'm very happy."
Derek also explained his side on how people thought that he's "insensitive" for moving on from his relationship with Andrea.
He noted it's because he has a supportive family and friends who back him up.
In terms of handling bashers, Derek seems like has mastered the art of deadma (dead malice).
"I know the truth so the bashers can keep bashing, bring it on!" he quipped.
But turning serious, he said bashers will just bash for the sake of bashing because that's what they do.
"For me, I don't have to deal with that -- that's just too negative and too toxic. I don't want that in my life," he said. "So the ones that express their opinion, and it's with respect -- I try to answer them."
"You know just like criticism -- it should be helpful towards. You should be able to accept that. And that's how I've lived my life," he added, as he pointed out that he doesn't owe them any explanation.
However, Derek admitted that it annoys him when people get his family involved. "That's below the belt."
"They shouldn't do that. My parents are always there to support me but they don't make the decisions for me. When it comes to my relationships, they allow me to do that. They give me advice but they don't tell me what to do."
Pops also asked Derek if he falls in love easily, to which Derek answered that he has this reputation of "the man who will never get married."
But he reiterated that he's been in a long-term relationship three times already.

"That's what they say about me. But I do want to get married. I do want to have a family. I want to have what my parents have -- almost 50 years together!"
Derek said that he understands what people say to him because when he gets into a relationship, he's very open.
"I've always said since the beginning, breakups happen and it sucks, it hurts, but what am I supposed to do? Cry about it for the rest of my life? No."
Although he's currently "super in love," Derek reiterated it was not something he planned about.
In fact, he noted how he didn't want to be in a relationship right after his breakup with Andrea.
"You know, I was hurt with the whole breakup with Andrea, it was a big change for me. So I said two years of no relationship. I just want to spend time with myself, set new goals, think about what's my next chapter in life -- that kind of thing and then boom, unexpected, blindsided, out of nowhere," he said, relating that he and his new girlfriend, Ellen Adarna just "clicked" right away.
He related how the sexy actress makes him feel happy about who he is.
"And the old Derek is back... the happy-go-lucky Derek!," he said, explaining how his friends have been telling him that in the last six to seven years, he's just been "too serious" but now he's back to his old self.
Aside from talking about his private life, Derek also opened up about his retirement plan from showbiz.
