Spearheaded by Kilusang Magbubukid ng Pilipinas and Anakpawis Party-list, the "Ayuda sa Masa, Ibigay na!" petition demands P10,000 cash assistance and P15,000 production subsidy from the national government amid the "detrimental impact of pandemic and militaristic lockdown, neoliberal policies, calamities, and food crisis."

"The peasant sector screamed for P15,000 production subsidy and P10,000 as social amelioration but was constantly neglected by the Duterte regime. The petition signing is part of our 'Kalampag Kontra Kagutuman' and will be part of the demand for the national protest of Filipino women on March 8 at Mendiola, Manila," Amihan National Chairperson Zenaida Soriano said.

Soriano also urged Filipino peasant women to "assert their rights for land, immediate assistance, productions subsidy, and against abuses."

Amihan will gather signatures from the mothers and peasant women in Dasmarinas, Cavite.

The group earlier held a petition signing in the peasant communities in Rodriguez, Rizal and Mabalacat, Pampanga last March 1 and 2. The group likewise encouraged the public to join the International Women's Day protest on March 8.
