'Paradis Island' exists in PH -- but minus the Titans

"Paradis Island" is a fictional place in the popular Japanese manga and animated series "Attack on Titan (AOT)". It is used by Marleyans as a dumping ground for its Eldian criminals, which are turned into pure "Titans" as punishment.

In the Philippines, a real Paradis Island -- without the Titans -- actually exists and is a mere three-hour drive from Metro Manila.

Opened in May 2019, Paradis Island PH is a small private island located in the middle of Lumot Lake in Cavinti, Laguna that offers a breath of fresh air for people who have been longing to go out after almost a year under quarantine.

Far from the fictional island, the real Paradis is an "eco-friendly and unspoiled private island for rent" with glamping tents and rustic villas. Exploring activities such as kawa hot bath, kayaking, swimming, and fishing are also available.

But just for the record, the management of the island-for-rent has denied that it is maintaining a Titans' lair.

"We are just an innocent island in Laguna and we have nothing to do with the Titans. You can book your events with us this summer and we will make sure that you will enjoy your stay without Titans that will disturb (you)," it said in Filipino.

But that shouldn't stop fans from having an AOT-themed vacation, which they can do by renting the whole island and then running around there like a Titan or screaming "sasageyo!"

Created by Hajime Isayama, AOT follows the adventures of Eren, his adoptive sister Mikasa, and their friend Armin who join a group of soldiers in direct combat against the Titans while finding out the truth about them.

The last season of the animated series is still ongoing and is expected to end this April.
