Walt Disney Studios recently revealed Asia's Soul Supreme Diva, KZ Tandingan, will be lending her voice to "Raya and the Last Dragon."
She will be singing "Gabay," which is historic as it will be the first-ever Filipino-language track on a Disney movie.
KZ immediately reacted to the announcement.
“I am so grateful to be chosen to sing the first-ever Disney track in Filipino! Tune in on March 5 as "Gabay" from Disney's Raya and the Last Dragon drops on Spotify. Abangan po ninyo! #DisneyRayaPH @disneyphilippines,” she wrote.
Note that “Raya and the Last Dragon” tells the story of Raya, a warrior tasked to track down a legendary dragon to save the world.
Prior to KZ, Filipino singers who officially record versions of Disney theme songs include Janella Salvador for “Moana” (“Reflection”), Moira for “Mulan” (“Reflection”), and Darren Espanto and Morisssette for “Aladdin” (“A Whole New World”).
