K-pop boy band and Grammy nominee BTS will be performing at the Recording Academy foundation’s virtual concert and fundraiser.

“We’re excited to announce that the GRAMMY-Nominated #BTS (@bts_bighit) are joining our incredible lineup of #MusicOnAMission performers!” announced MusiCares Foundation.

The “Music on a Mission” virtual concert, an official Grammy Week event, will be held on March 12 or two days before the Grammy Awards ceremony on March 14.

According to the MusiCares, “the virtual event will honor the resilience of the music community, which has been deeply impacted by the COVID-19 pandemic.”

The concert “will feature new performances by HAIM, H.E.R., Jhené Aiko, and John Legend as well as legendary performances from the MusiCares’ vaults featuring Bruce Springsteen, Stevie Nicks and Tom Petty, and Usher.”

Artists who will make special appearances at the event are Carole King, Jesse & Joy, Jonas Brothers, Ledisi, Lionel Richie, Macklemore, Mick Fleetwood, Paul McCartney, Ringo Starr and Shakira, and a special pre-show DJ set performed by DJ D-Nice.

“Music on a Mission is a chance to recognize the challenges music people have faced this past year and honor their resiliency. After surveying the music industry, it is clear the pandemic has taken a financial and mental toll. As the leading foundation dedicated to the health and welfare of music people, it is our responsibility to support music people through this pandemic and beyond. We’re thrilled to pay tribute to the people who have kept the music playing,” said said Laura Segura, executive director of MusiCares..

According to MusiCares, since the coronavirus disease (COVID-19) pandemic has started, it has given more than $22 million to help more than 25,000 people in the music industry.

Last Jan. 31, BTS’ costumes for their “Dynamite” music video sold for $162,500 at the MusiCares Charity Relief Auction held in Beverly Hills.

BTS donated the costumes, estimated to be from $20,000 to $40,000, for the charity event. The items consisted of pastel-colored shirts, pants, hats, T-shirts and sneakers.

At the 63rd Grammy Awards, BTS is nominated for Best Pop Duo/Group Performance.
