Wesley So shows support for PCAP chess

Grandmaster Wesley So does not forget his roots.

Already based in Minnetonka, Minnesota in the United States, the 27-year-old So continues to follow Philippine chess by recently promoting the Professional Chess Association of the Philippines (PCAP).

So showed his support to the tournament in a recent Facebook post.

“I am a Filipino-American. That means I am still a Filipino as well as an American. I want to be supportive of chess players doing their best!” So wrote, sharing a video post from PCAP’s official Facebok page.

The video contained matches of the PCAP All-Filipino Conference held last Feb. 27.

A three-time Filipino chess champion, So represented the Philippines until his transfer to the United States in 2014.

He recently won the Skilling Open and the Euro Opera Rapid legs of the Champions Chess Tour being held online.
