Filipinos abroad who contracted COVID-19 increased by one, now total 14,897 -- DFA

The Department of Foreign Affairs (DFA) on Sunday confirmed that one overseas Filipino from the Americas was afflicted with COVID-19 (coronavirus disease 2019).Â

This brings the total number of confirmed COVID-19 cases involving Filipinos abroad to 14,897.Â
No new recovery and no new death among the nationals abroad were reported on the last day of February 2021.Â
Since the pandemic began in February 2020, the total number of overseas Filipinos who died due to coronavirus infections is 1,018.
Recoveries, meanwhile, are at 9,379 while those still undergoing treatment are at 4,500.
The department continues to express its commitment to monitor the situation of overseas Filipinos and in promoting and protecting their welfare.
