Filipino-American fighter Brandon Vera has joined fellow ONE Championship stars Aung La N Sang and Martin Nguyen in a training camp at Sanford MMA in Florida.

In a social media post Saturday, Feb. 27, Vera posted a photo of him striking a pose alongside members of Sanford MMA led by head trainer and co-founder Henri Hooft.

"I am humbled and honored for Coach , and the whole group for welcoming me into the fold," said the 43-year-old Vera. "Iron sharpens Iron and during this #corona world it's hard to find a fire burning hot enough, let alone them inviting you in open arms."

In late January, the reigning ONE Championship heavyweight king teased fans of his much-awaited comeback in the Circle.

The names of Arjan Bhullar of India and Amir Aliakbari of Iran, two renowned wrestlers who signed with ONE Championship last year, and recent winners Mauro Cerilli of Italy and Oumar Kane of Senegal are on Vera's radar.

Vera was scheduled to fight Bhullar last May at the Mall of Asia Arena in Pasay City but was scrapped due to the coronavirus pandemic.

The Fil-Am champion last saw action in the Circle in October 2019 and tried his gears in the light heavyweight division, but eventually suffered a knockout defeat against current champion Aung La.

Aung La then lost the middleweight title over Dutch fighter Reinier de Ridder last October.

Before attending training camp, Vera focused on family time in Guam after he and wife Jessica Craven welcomed their son Atreyu Timothy last July amid the COVID-19 pandemic.
