The Commission on Elections (COMELEC) has set the voters' registration from Feb. 15 to Sept. 30 this year.

Fernando said while voting is not compulsory, it is a civic duty and a crucial part of democracy that determines the future of the country.

It is free of charge and we have nothing to lose. Come to think of it, the benefits are big and far-reaching. So don't regret the short time we will set aside for this because each one of us has the power to contribute more in the development for our country),"  he said.

To register, Bulakenyos may visit https://irehistro.comelec.gov.ph/ or go to the COMELEC office in their respective city or municipality.

Atty. Mona Ann Aldana-Campos, provincial election supervisor of COMELEC Bulacan, reminded that the Inter-Agency Task Force on Emerging Infectious Diseases (IATF-EID) requires public health standards to be strictly implemented and registrants to wear a face mask and face shield, and encourages them to bring their own black ballpen.

She said registrants may visit COMELEC offices from Tuesday to Saturday, 8 a.m. to 5 p.m., as all COMELEC offices will have no transactions every Monday due to weekly disinfection.
