'Singkwenta para sa Parola' project garners over P50K in donations for fire victims

The Sangguniang Kabataan (SK) officials of the first district of Manila have garnered over 50,000 donations to help the fire victims of Parola Compound in Tondo, Manila.

The SK officials launched a project on Feb. 24 dubbed “Singkwenta para sa Parola,” a fundraising drive to help families affected by the six-hour fire that reached the fourth alarm on Feb. 21.

As of Feb. 25, a total amount of P52,173.95 donations have been received.

The SK officials also expressed their gratitude to those who donated to their project.

"Nais naming iparating ang taos-pusong pasasalamat kay Manila Mayor Isko Moreno Domagoso sa supportang ibinigay sa aming misyon at proyektong #SingkwentaParaSaParola, umabot na sa PHP 52,173.95 ang aming nalikom na halaga mula sa inyong mga pinagsama-samang tulong at donasyon. Maraming maraming salamat po sa inyong lahat! (We would like to express our sincere gratitude to Manila Mayor Isko Moreno Domagoso for the support given to our mission and project #SingkwentaParaSaParola, we have received PHP 52,173.95 from your combined help and donations. Thank you very much to all of you)," they wrote in a Facebook post on Friday (Feb. 26).

The total amount raised through the donation drive by the SK officials will help fire victims of Parola Compound.

The Manila Public Information Office advised donors to refer only to the mentioned numbers or numbers posted on their official social media pages to avoid getting scammed.

Those who want to give donations for the fire victims may refer to the following numbers:
