Comelec urges LGUs to set-up downloading stations to help voter applicants

Seeking to address the concerns  of voter applicants who were having a hard time downloading the registration forms online, the Commission on Elections (Comelec) has urged barangays to set up their own downloading stations.

"We always say the forms are available online...for others that's convenient but there are those unable to get the form," Comelec Spokesperson James Jimenez said in a radio interview Friday, Feb. 26.

"We encourage barangays to set up downloading stations," he added.

The Comelec has been urging those planning to register for the May 2022 polls to download the form in their website ahead of time for faster transaction and avoid long queues inside  the poll office in view of the coronavirus disease 2019 (COVID-19) pandemic.

On Friday, the poll body distributed 1,000 voter registration kits during their voter registration campaign in Quezon City.

A voter registration kit contains  three copies of voter registration forms, health declaration form, a leaflet of registration guide and 2 pcs face masks.

The voter registration kits were distributed to voter registrants of GK Village and Brgy. Talipapa Market, Talipapa, Quezon City.

The WALKAH-WALKAH: #Magparehistroka Voter Education Campaign was conducted to further encourage the public to register.

Voter registration will end on Sept. 30, 2021.
