Former Cavite Gov. Ayong Maliksi dies at 82

Former Cavite Governor Erineo "Ayong" S. Maliksi passed away at the age of 82, his son and Imus City Mayor Emmanuel L. Maliksi confirmed Wednesday night (Feb. 24).

"Ang aming pamilya ay lubos na nagdadalamhati sa pagpanaw ng aking ama, Erineo 'Ayong' S. Maliksi (Our family is deeply grieved by the passing of my father, Erineo 'Ayong' S. Maliksi)," the younger Maliksi wrote in a Facebook post.

"Alam ko, at ramdam kong nariyan ka at patuloy na gagabay sa amin. Mula noon, at hanggang ngayon. Paalam, Daddy (I know and I can feel that you're here and you'll continue to guide us. Goodbye, Daddy)," he added.
