Duterte wants new team focused on monitoring dismissed officials, law enforcers

President Duterte said there must be a team that would monitor the activities of government officials and law enforcers who were dismissed due to their involvement in illegal drugs, corruption, and bribery activities, saying he was sure that these people would not cease from doing their illegal deeds.

Duterte made the statement as he renewed his vow to devote his remaining time in office to go after the corrupt people in government.

In his weekly public address, President Duterte said there should be a team that would monitor the government people who were dismissed from the service because of illegal activities since they might resort to doing their nefarious acts even after their dismissal.

"I'll be asking the PDEA (Philippine Drug Enforcement Agency) to come out with the list, or itong lahat ng mga tao in government, lalo na yung law enforcement, na kung sino na ang mga natanggal (or everyone in government, especially the ones in law enforcement, of those who were dismissed)," he said Wednesday evening.

"Sigurado ako na gagawa ito ng milagro (I'm sure they will perform miracles) to continue with this nefarious activity. Bantayan ito sila (Monitor them)," he added.

"There must be a team dedicated to watching only these guys who are dismissed from the service," he continued.

According to Duterte, government people who are linked to illegal drugs, corruption, bribery, and malversation should be immediately dismissed instead of being suspended.

"If you are bribing or you are in the take that you can be bribed, you should not be there in the service at all," the President said.

"Those policemen na ang mga kasalanan itong related sa drugs pati itong pera (whose crimes are related to drugs and money)-- malversation-- there's only one penalty there: They should not be in government. They should be out in the streets," he added.

President Duterte said he would be asking the Presidential Anti-Corruption Commission (PACC) to modify their ruling to suspend these officials and to outright dismiss them.

"'Yang droga tsaka bribery, kalimutan niyo na yung suspension-suspension. Hindi ako maniwala diyan. Paalisin kita (If it's about drugs or bribery, then forget about your suspension. I will not honor that. I will kick you out)," he said.

"Iutos ko ngayon ito sa PACC, paalisin ito lahat. Yung lahat ng suspended, i-modify ninyo... Umalis kayo (I will order the PACC to send all of you packing. All those who are suspended, the PACC should modify them. You should be out)," he added.

Duterte even dared the dismissed government people to file a case against him.
