2-year-old girl is Morong, Rizal's youngest COVID-19 case


A two-year-old girl in Morong, Rizal tested positive for COVID-19, making her the youngest patient to be infected by the disease in the municipality.

On Tuesday, Feb. 23, the municipal government said the baby from Barangay Maybancal is the latest addition to its COVID-19 tally which has now reached 358.

The baby has no travel history and has no known exposure to a COVID-case according to the municipal government.

She is currently under strict isolation and is in stable condition.

Health authorities have reportedly started contact tracing and investigating the possible reasons why the baby got infected even despite no travel history and exposure to COVID-19 patients.

Morong has 16 active COVID-19 cases, four of which are from Barangay Bombongan; another four in Barangay San Pedro; three in Barangay San Guillermo, and one each in Barangay CCL, Lagundi, San Jose, San Juan, and Maybangcal.

The town has recorded nine deaths and 333 recoveries so far.
