Filipino-American artist Jefrë and the world’s tallest heart sculpture

The ‘Heart to Heart’ is planned to be finished by Valentine's day 2022

Jefrë and the design concept for ‘Heart to Heart’

World renowned Fil-Am public artist Jefrë is set to bring hearts aflutter next year with his upcoming work that is said to be the tallest heart sculpture in the world at 100 ft. tall.

Dubbed as the “Heart to Heart,” the sculpture is commissioned by Mattamy Homes. The soaring, heart-shaped sculpture will rise above a 30-ft wide circular pool that forms the centerpiece for Tradition, a master-planned community in Port St. Lucile, Florida, US. Designed to be a vibrant destination for families and couples alike, the installation is set to be complete for public dedication on Feb. 14, 2022.

“Tradition is what is in your heart,” says Jefrë. “My goal is to create an iconic landmark for the city and people of Tradition. I want to build a postcard moment that brings people together.”

“Heart to Heart,” much like what its name implies, is a celebration of relationship and romance, depicted through the sculpture’s gentle, twisting shape. Visitors can enter the sculpture through an interior staircase, which leads to a glass bridge that connects both sides of the heart-shaped structure before a far-reaching view spanning multiple directions.

With its mirror-like stainless steel material, the sculpture will create quite a light show. By day, it will reflect the glimmer of the pool surface, and as nighttime falls, it will glow with the dramatic illumination of LED lights.

“Jefrë understands our vision for Tradition and how integral art is to life in our community,” says Dan Grosswald, Mattamy President of Southeast Florida Division. “When we saw his sculptures around the world, we knew that he would create an iconic, recognizable piece of art for our current and future residents and for visitors to travel to see.”

Apart from his works in London, Abu Dhabi, Miami, and Rome, Jefrë sculptures includes the “Tree of Life” in Robinsons Place Naga, the “Sculpture” series at SM Aura in Bonifacio Global City, and the upcoming 20-story monument “The Victor” at Robinsons Bridgetowne. In 2020, he successfully unveiled his first solo exhibit, Points of Connection, at the Orlando Museum of Art.
