Five people, including four children, died in a six-hour fire that reached fourth alarm at Parola Compound in Tondo, Manila on Saturday night, Feb. 20.

Fire investigators identified the casualties as Jake Loyola, 37; Noah Loyola, 3; Richard Tigas, 10; Kiefer Loyola, 8; and Jeric Tigas, 12.
Five people were also injured in the fire, including Cyrus Frank, 9, who suffered from second degree burns; Sonny Boy Jovita, 23; and Rodulfo Cadigal Jr, 44; who both got an abrasion; Rea Adriatico, 37; and Marbin V. Alperes, 45; who both sustained a laceration.
Investigation showed that the fire was first reported at the second floor of a residential structure at Gate 20 at 11:53 p.m. on Saturday, Feb. 20.
It quickly reached second alarm at 12 midnight and escalated to third alarm after seven minutes.
At 1:49 a.m., the blaze reached fourth alarm. Around three hours later, fire fighters declared it under control.
The fire was finally put out at 6:11 a.m.
According to a report, around 600 families were displaced and around 300 structures were destroyed in the blaze.
Fire investigators pegged the worth of damages at around P3 million.
Further investigation is underway.
