Valenzuela City Mayor Rex Gatchalian has called the attention of NLEX Corporation as he “thinks” that “somebody” might be “violating the terms of the conditional lifting of suspension’s business permit.

Gatchalian on Saturday made the remark after a Twitter user lodged concern before him that her EasyTrip account's load credit does not appear or update in real-time, which violates NLEX agreement with Gatchalian when he conditionally lifted the company’s business permit suspension.

“Good afternoon po mayor. Till now wala pa din po pumapasok 500 load sa EasyTrip account ko po. I will send the proof po,” the Twitter user said.

Gatchalian responded to the complainant by saying he “will relay” the matter to the company.

“NLEX Corporation, I think somebody is violating the terms of the conditional lifting of suspension of business permit,” Gatchalian said in a Facebook post. “This was suppose to be addressed by the system upgrade last Jan. 30.”

But some social media users believed that it was not NLEX's fault.

“Ang ginagawa ko nalang po dyan is reload nalang ulit para pumasok na. Sometimes talaga nagrereversal yung payment nila. Bayad Center na yata may problem sa ganyan (What I do whenever I encounter that problem is to reload again. Sometimes, there’s reversal of payment. I think, it’s already the remittance centers that have the problem),” a certain Reggan San Diego said in a comment section.

For Facebook user Ronnie Castolo, NLEX “should coordinate with its reloading channels” so issues on late crediting of load would be addressed.

“Nakakaabala na masyado 'yang ganyan issue. Nagbayad ka na bakit kailangan mo pa mag-antay kung kailan papasok sa account mo (Such kind of issue is really a waste of time. We are the ones paying. Why do we still have to wait for the time it will finally appear on our accounts?),” he asked.

On December 7, Gatchalian suspended the company's business permit in the city due to “atrocious traffic situation” on the expressway caused by the glitches of its RFID system.

But, on December 16, he eventually lifted the suspension on condition that the company should ensure its compliance with its undertaking, including addressing the “inefficient reloading” system and implementing barriers-up policy.

The city government even warned that if NLEX fails to comply with one of its stipulations stated on their undertaking or violates any local and national laws, rules and regulations, the local government will issue again its suspension order “without any further notice or issuance.”
