No appointment, no entry: National Library to open on Feb. 22 under new setup

The National Library of the Philippines (NLP) will reopen on February 22 under a reservation system with stricter protocols for visitors.

"Starting Feb. 22, the National Library of the Philippines is pleased to announce the opening of its Readers Service. For safety precautions, the library will be following the 'new normal' operational procedures," the NLP said in its Facebook page.

Library users are advised to book their appointment at least a day ahead of the intended schedule of visit at bit.ly/nlp-online-appointment.

Visitors will need to accomplish a health declaration form before booking requests are processed.

Upon confirmation of appointment, users will be given a unique library user reservation code, as well as the designated seat number which will be presented before entering the NLP.

Reservations will be on a first come first serve basis, while a maximum of 94 library users will be accommodated per day.

The reading room of the library is open from 9 a.m. to 3 p.m. only, the NLP added.

Precautionary measures will also be implemented inside the library such as the mandatory wearing of face masks and face shields for all visitors, checking of body temperature, and enforcing physical distancing, among others.
