Lolo, 92, arrested for 2 counts of statutory rape

Police have arrested a 92-year old man after he was accused of sexually assaulting a minor in Aborlan town of Palawan.

The Philippine National Police (PNP) would not reveal specific details due to the sensitivity of rape cases but it said the old man was already charged with two counts of statutory rape by sexual assault.

Ironically, the suspect is known in their community as Lolo Anghel.

A report reaching Camp Crame said the arrest of the suspect was based on the arrest warrant issued by Regional Trial Court Branch 47 in Puerto Princesa City. The arrest was issued in November last year.

Each of the two cases has a recommended bail of P200,000.

The suspect is currently detained at the Aborlan Municipal Police Station in Palawan.
