Barbie Imperial, Diego Loyzaga: From friends to lovers

The young couple admit their romance was something they did not expect.

On the recent vlog of Star Magic, Barbie Imperial and Diego Loyzaga revealed this and more.

The two first met in 2018 but it was sometime after that they became friends. 

During the time when Diego decided to stay away from the limelight, the 25-year-old actor noted how the 22-year-old star was among those who actually asked updates about him.

"Nakita ko na tunay siyang kaibigan," Diego related. 

They would go on to greet each other on their respective birthdays.

None too soon, they were playing online games together.

Barbie vividly remembers how Diego would spoil her by giving her valuable items relating to the games they play.

As their friendship deepened, the two would then join each other in different getaways.

Diego shared how Barbie even asked the permission of his mom, Teresa Loyzaga, so he could go with her to Pangasinan.

"Pero as a friend, walang malisya," Barbie noted. 

"...du'n ko nakita na sincere siyang kaibigan kasi pinagpaalam mo ako sa nanay ko," told Diego to the actress.

They shared that it was after the said trip that they had a heart-to-heart talk.

From then on they formed a "mutual understanding," until, of course, Diego finally asked Barbie to be his girl!
