“Starting 17 February 2021, Book Stop Intramuros is back in business. Free access, free reading, and free book exchanges. Give a book, get a book,” Book Stop announced on its Facebook page on Feb. 16.

Visitors who wish to read or exchange books in the pop-up library were reminded to follow basic health protocols when entering the space which include the wearing of face masks, and physical distancing of at least one meter.

“Observe proper hygiene. Do not touch your eyes, nose, and mouth. Practice respiratory etiquette at all times,” Book Stop added.

Book Stop said those who will fail to comply with the health and safety protocols will be denied entry.

Book Stop Intramuros is part of The Book Stop Project initiated by WTA Architecture and Design Studios in 2016.

The pop-up library project aims to determine “the role that libraries play in contemporary urban societies and the shape that they may take as society develops and grows.”

Book Stop Intramuros is located at Plaza Roma, Intramuros, Manila, across the Manila Cathedral.
