CARMONA, Cavite - Department of Transportation (DOTr) Secretary Arthur P. Tugade urged the employees of a newly launched Land Transportation Office (LTO) - district office to avoid corruption and aim for shorter processes.
Tugade was the guest of honor during the inauguration of the LTO - Carmona District Office at Macaria Business Center in Barangay Mabuhay on Wednesday (Feb. 17).
"Binabatikos at hinahampas tayo ng mga akusasyon na tayo daw ay namumuhay sa korapsyon (We are being bombarded and hit with accusations that we are allegedly living in corruption)," Tugade said.
The secretary then cited issues regarding the release of four-wheel vehicle license plates, bigger license plates for motorcycle, and the Motor Vehicle Inspection System program.
"Let's all make this inauguration a celebration of sorts. But as we make it a celebration of sorts, we make it a covenant to ourselves working here that it will be a covenant of corruption-free, a covenant of shortened processes, a covenant of real service to the Filipino people," Tugade added.
Also in attendance during the inauguration were LTO Asec. Edgar C. Galvante, LTO IV-A Regional Director Noreen Bernadette San Luis-Lutey, Rep. Dahlia A. Loyola of the 5th District of Cavite, Mayor Roy M. Loyola, and Vice Mayor Cesar Ines Jr.
