Filipino war veterans warned vs pension update scam

The Philippine Veterans Affairs Office (PVAO) warned Filipino war veterans on Wednesday, Feb. 17, against unregistered numbers offering services to update validation of pension status with a payment.

The agency underscored to avoid these persons, as “they are not authorized to transact business with the office.”

“Be reminded also that any services regarding validation of your pension status is free of charge. Do not allow yourself to be a victim of fraud,” the PVAO said in an advisory.

PVAO said pensioners may inquire on pensioners status to the Veterans Records Management Division (VRMD) with contact numbers (02) 8912-4864 or (02) 8376-4106, and email address at [email protected].
