Gregorio appeals speedy trial for wife, son in Tarlac fatal shooting
As the hearing of the fatal shooting of a mother and son in Paniqui, Tarlac has begun, the husband and father of the victims appealed for a speedy trial on the two murder cases.

Florentino Gregorio, husband and father of the victims Sonya and Frank Anthony Gregorio, said that he has testified in the court during the first hearing last Feb. 4.
The suspect, Police Staff Sgt. Jonel Nuezca, was also present in the hearing via Zoom, according to Florentino.
“Kaya po nung pinapoint po sa akin pinatanggal ko po yung mask niya, pinatanong ko po yung pangalan niya para nadidinig po ng korte na siya ang tinutukoy ko (When I was tasked to point Nuezca, I asked to removed his mask, and I also asked his name so that the court could hear that he is the one I was referring to),” Florentino told ABS-CBN’s Teleradyo on Tuesday, Feb. 16.
Florentino said the first hearing tackled damages in the case, however, he added that it will never replaced the lives that Nuezca took from them.
In the video that went viral on social media last Dec. 20, 2020, it showed that the shooting happened when the daughter of Nuezca figured in an argument with the elder Gregorio. The cop’s daughter was seen yelling at the old woman and saying that her father is a policeman.
Nuezca appeared to get annoyed when the older Gregorio yelled back at his daughter. A few seconds later, the cop shot Sonya in the head at close range. He also did the same to her son.

Florentino underscored that the video helped in the investigation of the case.
“Maganda nga po speedy trial ang mangyari. Gusto ko mapagdusahan niya ‘yun (It would be better if speedy trial could happen. I want him to suffer from what he did),” Florentino said.
Florentino said the next hearing is scheduled on Thursday, Feb. 18.
