Comelec records 'small number' of repatriated overseas Filipinos transferring voter registration
Only a small number of repatriated overseas Filipinos have opted to transfer their voter registration from overseas to local voters list, according to the Commission on Elections (Comelec).

In his Twitter account, Comelec Spokesperson James Jimenez said "there have only been 12,000 applications for transfers from overseas voting to local voting."
"There are approximately 600,000 of repatriates, most of whom are probably registered overseas voters," he said.
Jimenez reminded OF repatriates of the deadline for transfers which was set on August 31, 2021.
In Resolution No. 10677, the Comelec said applications for transfer of registration records from overseas posts to the Philippines is from Sept. 1, 2020 to August 31, 2021.Â
To do this, the applicants need to go to their Office of Election Officer (OEO), where they intend to vote, and file their application for transfer of registration records.
Applicants need to secure two forms, the request for transfer and application for registration (OVF No. 1-B), which can be downloaded from the poll body's website or availed at the city/municipal OEOs.Â
More than 500, 000 overseas Filipino workers were displaced due to the COVID-19 pandemic.
