Don't let your guard down vs COVID-19, priest urges faithful
An official of the Catholic Bishops' Conference of the Philippines (CBCP) said the increase in the number of people allowed in religious gatherings does not mean that the people can be complacent and let their guard down against coronavirus disease (COVID-19).

Father Jerome Secillano, executive secretary of the CBCP Public Affairs Committee, reminded the faithful that the COVID-19 remains a threat to everyone's health.
"While some protocols are now being relaxed, we urged the public to still exercise caution as COVID-19 hasn't been extinguished yet from our midst," he said in an interview Sunday, February 14.
"We are still not safe from this virus and its unpredictable nature makes it really a threat to everyone's health," added Secillano.
Starting Feb. 15, churches in the country’s capital region will now be allowed to open up to 50 percent of their capacity for worshippers.
The government’s COVID-19 Task Force has eased the current limit of 30 percent of capacity for churches in areas under the general community
quarantine.
Authorities also allowed the opening of more businesses like cinemas, museums, and tourist places like theme parks and historical landmarks.
Limited social events are also permitted at accredited establishments of the Department of Tourism (DOT).
